Deputy Prime Minister Krassimir Karakachanov opened a monument to Can Tervel in Sveti Vlas

 Deputy Prime Minister of Public Order and Security and Defense Minister Krasimir Karakachanov and businessman Yordan Dinev opened a monument ofKhan Tervel today in St. Vlas.

The monument is the work of the foundation “Bulgarian Memory” brothers Jordan and Dinko Dinevi, which for years created restore and maintain the monuments associated with the heroic past of Bulgaria.The monument is made of bronze, 5 meters high, and its author is the famous Bulgarian sculptor Petko Yordanov.

During the ceremony, the monument was officially sanctified by the Metropolitan of Sliven Yoanikii.

This monument is a very good sign that, despite the times of fictional values, the Bulgarian does not surrender and keeps, preserves and revives Bulgarian and Orthodox history in his heart, said Minister Karakachanov.

He thanked all those who have initiated in Bulgaria celebrating the 1300th anniversary of the victory of Khan Tervel and are committed to the cause of revival spirit of the nation.

The Minister noted that the erection of the monument to the Bulgarian ruler was another patriotic initiative of the Dinko and Yordan Dinevi brothers who perpetuated Bulgarian history.

I want to congratulate them for all the years in which they revived the memory of the Bulgarians, helped those who searched for their hearts and their minds about their native history,for the glory and self-esteem that we as Bulgarians have to have, added the minister.

The National Initiative Committee includes Professor Nikolay Mihaylov, academician Anton Donchev and various groups of people from all over Bulgaria.

We must respect those people who are separated from their means to revive Bulgarian national dignity, that build monuments of Bulgarian history,maintain and build Orthodox temples, support initiatives, publish books.Such people deserve respect and distinction, added Karakachanov.
